This week…we are at the allotments

Don’t forget this week we will be at Fernhill Allotments. Easter ‘egg’stravagansa and outdoor cricket!!!

Please park considerately in Mint Road. Do not block any drives. Directions from the Triangle Centre are below, after parking in Mint Road you need to cross the railway carefully at the pedestrian crossing.

The weather forecast looks OK for the evening but potentially it might be a little cold. Please dress the children up warm. It’s likely to be a bit damp underfoot so wellies / suitable footwear would be a good idea.

We’ll have a wealth of games on offer including an Easter egg hunt. They’ll also be a BBQ and we’ll have a camp fire going. As always there will be veggie options on offer. The children always enjoy being outside at the allotments and hopefully Friday will be no exception.

As it’s likely to be a little cold we’re going to shorten the session this week. For the younger children the session will be from 6pm – 7.30pm, for the older children the session will be from 7pm – 8.30pm. Sorry to change the times but the children won’t enjoy themselves if they are outside for too long.

This week…..cinema night

This Friday we are offering the chance to go to see Wreck-it Ralph at Port Solent cinema. Wreck-it Ralph is the latest film from Disney and is a PG certificate. It’s a comedy and reviews have been really good. You can find out more about the film by clicking the link below.

http://www.odeon.co.uk/fanatic/film_info/m13488/Wreck_It_Ralph_2D/
The film starts at 6pm so parents would need to drop off their children at 5.50pm in the foyer at Port Solent cinema. Tickets will be £5 / child or £7.50 / adult. Adults that are on the rota for this Friday will be free. The film is 108 minutes long so parents will need to be back in the foyer from 7.50pm to pick up their child. Your child may also like to bring some pocket money to buy some popcorn.

Interested? I’m going to need a quick response as Port Solent won’t allow me to reserve tickets. They’ve agreed I can phone them Thursday morning with final numbers and assure me that enough seats will be available! Please e-mail names of any children or adults that are going. I’ll collect money on Friday evening.

Can I apologise for the late notice for this event. I did drive down to Port Solent last night and they couldn’t tell me what was showing on Friday as they don’t sort that out until Tuesday afternoon. Hopefully, next week’s organisation will run more smoothly….

Please e-mail me back promptly if you’d like your child to attend.

This week…

Just a reminder that club will be back at The Triangle Centre after a brilliant night out bowling last Friday night.

This week we’re going to have a great Caribbean night in. We’ve managed to book some Caribbean Steel Pans for the children to try out their drumming skills. The last time we had a drumming night all the children said it had been one of their favourite nights. Using the Steel Pans will be a real challenge and it’ll be interesting to see what rhythms we can create. If you’re on duty you might want some cotton wool!!!

In addition, we’ve got the opportunity to children to create their very own Caribbean fruit punch (no rum I’m afraid) and some coconut cakes.

Finally, I keep having children ask me if they can have some Shrinkies for craft. I’ve managed to get some tonight so Shrinkies will be on offer.
