Previously at Liss Woodcraft Folk….Family Camp At Lurgashall

A successful return to the Woodcraft camp site at Lurgashall. The weather was a bit rubbish, but we still had a great time…

Camp – Directions

Finding the site is relatively straightforward. Take the A272 towards Midhurst. Go through Midhurst on the A272 until you see the sign towards Lodsworth on your left. Go through Lodsworth until you get to a village called Lickfold. Just after this village you’ll see the signs to the village of Lurgashall. There’s a big village green in Lurgashall with a pub called the Noah’s Ark. To the right of the pub there’s a little lane which takes you directly to Park Farm which is about 800 yards on the right. Park Farm is marked on the OS Map at 938275.

This week…Camping (Make sure you let Brian know if you are coming!!)…

Friday 22nd June to Sunday 24th June.

All families are very welcome to attend our family camp at Lurgashall (about 15 miles from Liss – map below). We’ll be setting up camp from 6pm on Friday evening and will set off for home after lunch on Sunday. Families are welcome to join us for just one night if that suits your family arrangements.

The opportunities for children to have a great time are fantastic. The site is made up of four fields and a wood – all of which are available for our use. There is an adventure playground and some equipment like go-carts which are great fun. At some point we will venture out for a walk which will take us past Lurgashall Winery – last year we stopped of for an ice-cream! During the weekend we will organise some wide games and there will be equipment for rounders, cricket, football, etc.

The cost of the weekend is £10 per family per night. So if you are staying for two nights it’s £20 for your whole family.

The site has been sensitively developed for traditional camping while offering amenities such as toilets and hot showers, and includes a range of facilities.

You will need to bring your own camping equipment – tent, sleeping bags, etc. Woodcraft do own some tents so ask if you would like to borrow one as that is easy to arrange.

Families do need to come properly dressed for a weekend outdoors, so please bring warm clothes and suitable footwear – a pair of wellies would be great.

Camp food will be provided – a BBQ on Friday night. There will be a range of cereals, bread, jam, peanut butter, etc. for breakfasts. Lunch will be a feast of soup, baked beans, etc. And on Saturday night we will be taking it easy with a Fish and Chip supper in local Midhurst. You will need to bring a mug, plate, bowl and eating utensils.

[important]Interested? We need to know who is going. Please send Brian and email at Brian@Lisswoodcraftfolk.org.uk and let us know which nights you will be coming. We will also need full names of all family members, the names of the children and an emergency contact for the weekend.[/important]

Last year 12 families went, and we are expecting more this year.
